Singapore ENT Specialist Dr Jeeve Kanagalingam is an Assistant Professor with the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine) – a joint Imperial College, London and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) medical school. His main role is as a Content Expert for the Neurology, Eyes and ENT module taught in phase II, Communication Skills Facilitator and House Tutor to Wu Lien-Teh House – one of the five 'houses' of the medical school. He was the lead in ENT at the inception of the medical school and remains active in the academic and student life of the school.

Ear, Nose and Throat Surgery is both a medical and surgical discipline. As part of Specialist ENT training in Singapore and the United Kingdom, ENT surgeons are expected to undertake research in this subject. Clinical research in ENT seeks answers to important questions about the best management of ENT conditions. It also helps an ENT Specialist develop his or her ability to appraise clinical research in a critical manner. This ensures good evidenced-based medical practice in the field of ENT surgery.

Having been privileged to train in some of the best ENT centres in the United Kingdom, Dr Jeeve had the opportunity to pursue clinical research in rhinology, sleep apnoea and snoring surgery, laryngology, head and neck surgery and paediatric ENT. He has published over over 38 peer-review papers and 3 book chapters. He is a key opinion leader in the use of povidone-iodine and iota-carrageenan in ENT. Dr Jeeve’s academic credentials as a Specialist ENT Surgeon are reflected in his current h-index score of 16. The h-index is a gauge of an author’s scholarly output and impact.

Dr Jeeve has been invited to teach and lecture at various ENT meetings and conferences across the world. In 2014 he was invited to conduct the Universiti Malaya Intensive Revision Course for junior ENT doctors in Malaysia.

Reproduced on this page are some of Dr Jeeve’s publications – both peer-reviewed manuscripts in ENT and general articles, lecture handouts and poster presentations.
